SOP: Configuring Google Chrome for Amazon Connect

Tools Required:

- Google Chrome (latest version)
- Access to Amazon Connect URL (https://omnicheer-staging.my.connect.aws/)

Step 1: Update Chrome to the Latest Version

Open Chrome.
Go to chrome://settings/help
Wait for Chrome to check for updates.
If an update is available, it will auto-install. Click 'Relaunch' if prompted.

Step 2: Allow Microphone Access

Go to chrome://settings/content/microphone
Ensure the correct microphone is selected in the drop-down.
Click 'Add' next to 'Allowed to use your microphone.'
Enter your Amazon Connect URL (e.g., https://your-instance.awsapps.com), then click Add.
Tip: When first visiting the Connect page, Chrome may prompt for microphone access. Click 'Allow.'

Step 3: Allow Pop-ups and Redirects

Go to chrome://settings/content/popups
Under 'Customized behaviors,' click 'Add' next to 'Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects.'
Enter your Amazon Connect URL.
Click Add.

Step 4: Enable Sound

Go to chrome://settings/content/sound
Make sure 'Sites can play sound' is enabled.
If Amazon Connect is listed under 'Muted,' click the trash icon to remove it.

Step 5: Clear Cache and Cookies (if issues occur)

Go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
Select: 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files'
Choose 'All time' as the time range.
Click Clear data.

Step 6: Disable Browser Extensions (if issues persist)

Go to chrome://extensions
Temporarily disable any extensions like: Ad blockers, Script blockers, Privacy-focused tools
Reload your Amazon Connect page and test again.

Step 7: Test Amazon Connect Access

Navigate to your Amazon Connect URL (e.g., https://your-instance.awsapps.com/connect/ccp)
Log in if prompted.
Check for microphone access and make a test call (if applicable).

Optional: Bookmark Your Amazon Connect URL

While on your Connect page, click the star icon in the address bar.
Save it to your bookmarks bar for easy access.
